Sioux Falls, SD (In Progress)
The meteoric growth of Sioux Falls has made a new terminal at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport both necessary and possible. We’re helping our friends at Mead & Hunt with this $120M, 70,000 SF expansion project that will benefit the Sioux Falls community and travelers across the region.
When all is said and done in Summer 2027, the expansion will include five new gates and many supporting spaces and amenities, including new hold rooms, restrooms, mother’s rooms, a children’s play area, and fresh dining offerings. The expanded concourse will reduce congestion, increase comfort, and create opportunities for additional destinations and increased flight frequency.
With a mix of precast, steel, mass timber, and glass, the hybrid podium construction will be durable without feeling heavy. Natural light will be abundant throughout the new concourse thanks to skylights, curtain walls, and clerestory windows. Two-story areas within the concourse will feel open and airy, reducing the feeling of congestion that plagues many airport experiences.
