Watertown, SD (Ongoing)
Watertown High School, home of the Arrows. We’ve helped improve this 1962 school in all kinds of ways. Now hammering away on an outdoor athletic complex.
We’ve spent a lot of time at WHS over the years. Our first big project there involved updating locker rooms, converting a pool into a multi-purpose space suitable for wrestling and tennis, and giving the hallowed old Civic Arena an interior refresh.
Then we went to work on the rest of the high school, more or less. We touched most of the classrooms, common areas and corridors, bringing spaces up to snuff (tech, electrical, HVAC, furniture + finishes, etc.) for today’s students and teachers. We also raised the roof on the commons. Literally. Not sure what “figuratively” would imply, but it wasn’t that. The updated commons lets in lots of natural light thanks to clerestory windows made possible by the raised roof. The commons’ new sunken lounge is a popular socializing space among students.
We recently finished upgrading the outdoor track and football field as the first phase of the athletic complex project. Next, a grandstand, restrooms & concessions, and more locker rooms. After that? Whatever else the Arrows need.
